Mission

It is the mission of the Parks Department to provide safe and clean parks for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Kechi City Park

The City maintains one park, known as Kechi City Park. The park is open to the public from 5 a.m.to 12 a.m. daily. The park has a walking path, playground, benches, two covered picnic table areas numerous trees, a dock in which to sit and watch wild life or to fish from. There is also a water fountain that has two outlets to drink from and one with a bowl for pets to drink.

 Fishing Kechi Pond

The park pond which is centered in the park is stocked by Kansas Wildlife and Game. The pond has a two fish a day limit as well as a length limit on certain fish. To fish in the pond a Kansas State fishing license is required.

 Pets and Animals

All dogs in the park are required to be on a leash since the park is located within city limits per city ordinance. Doggy bags are also placed in the park, so all may clean up after their pets.  We strongly encourage cleaning up after your pets for mowing purposes and the effects it has on storm water run-off.

Tree City USA

The City of Kechi has been recognized as a Tree City USA recipient for 3 consecutive years. The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service.
