Lead and Copper Information

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently announced changes to drinking water regulations which now require water suppliers to identify all materials used in the construction of water distribution systems nationwide. This includes the public (city) side and privately owned side.

The City of Kechi is required to develop a ‘Lead Service Line Inventory.’ We need your assistance in collecting needed information on the privately-owned side (water lines going into your home/business and water lines within your home/business). Please take a few minutes to complete the survey below, either online or print and return to Kechi City Hall, PO Box 88, Kechi KS 67067.

Need assistance identifying plumbing materials? Please reference the ‘Plumbing Material Reference Guide’ below or call Kechi City Hall at 316-744-9287.

Additional information can be found on the KDHE website  or the EPA website.

A complete packet of information and this request was mailed from the City of Kechi to all water utility customers in July 2023.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work through this federal government project. Together we can ensure that we continue to provide clean and safe drinking water to Kechi customers.
